In Memoriam
SRA PATRICIA DAVIS
I’m deeply honored to feature my late mother, Patricia Davis. Raised in Compton, California, she attended Compton High School before joining the U.S. Air Force right after graduation. She served honorably as an aircraft mechanic, achieving the rank of Senior Airman (SRA).
After her military service, my mother continued her dedication to justice as a member of the Black Panther Party, fighting for equality and uplifting her community. Her courage and activism, both in service to her country and in the fight for civil rights, reflect her unwavering commitment to making a difference.
In addition to her dedication, my mother was a talented writer and poet. Her words carried the power to inspire and heal, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she touched.
This tribute was submitted by WFEF Co-Founder Tia Walker, her daughter.

SSGT RONALD F. TAYLOR
Born in Pasadena, CA, and a proud Army veteran, Ronald F. Taylor dedicated his life to serving our country and raising his family in Compton, CA. Grandpa spent the rest of his civilian life as a trucker. He taught me to shake hands with a firm grip, work hard, and cuss in German. His legacy of service, strength, and love continues to inspire me every day. As we move forward with the Compton Veterans Memorial Project, I’m deeply honored to share his story and ensure his contributions are remembered.
